Addiction Services
The Addiction Services offer the following programs & services to assist people aged 18 years and older who have co-occurring alcohol & other drug & mental health problems. The aim is to assist them to reduce & stop their alcohol & other drug problem.
Assessment Service
This one-on-one service takes place over 2 to 3 sessions & assists people in finding & accessing the most appropriate support to change their alcohol & other drug use.
Withdrawal Service
Assistance with alcohol & other drug withdrawal, either as an inpatient or outpatient is offered for people wishing to start the day program.
Preparation
This one-on-one service aims to assist people who are not yet ready to attend the day programs & would benefit from individual preparatory work.
Addiction Rehabilitation Day Program
This group program offers education, therapy & support. The focus is to stop alcohol & other drug abuse & dependence using an integrated model, including cognitive behavioural therapy; it is a 2 day a week, 8 week program.
It is an intensive program, which includes:
- Psychoeducation about drug use, dependence & change
- Strengthening motivation to change
- Coping with cravings
- Managing triggers of lapse & relapse
- Managing depression & anxiety
- Assertiveness
- Lifestyle balance
- Relaxation
