The Albert Road Clinic has set the standard for private psychiatric care in Melbourne.

Our 80-bed facility provides a comprehensive range of assessment and treatment services. Embodying the Ramsay Health Care ethos of “people caring for people”, we demonstrate an uncompromising commitment to excellence.

There are over 40 full-time and sessional strongly committed consultant psychiatrists who have private rooms at the Albert Road Clinic. These doctors are available to take out-patient referrals.

The Ramsay Health Care Chair of Psychiatry of the University of Melbourne and the Professorial Psychiatry Unit are also very active in a range of studies to evaluate new treatments, and assess standards of care and their improvement. Studies have been undertaken on anxiety disorders, depression (including bipolar disorder), thinking processes, and schizophrenia.

Our success is built on the calibre and commitment of the people who work for us. In fact we believe our people are our greatest asset. Many of our consultants and staff enjoy national and international reputations for their ground breaking work in psychiatric care.

Our personnel are carefully selected from a range of disciplines, including psychiatry and other medical specialities, such as: general practice, nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, dietetics, music, art and exercise therapy. Their knowledge and skills are continually being developed through an active program of education, peer review and research.
