Albert Road Clinic set to expand
Dec 22, 2016
Ramsay Health Care’s Albert Road Clinic, a premier private mental health care facility in Victoria, is set to embark on the largest development in the hospital’s 21 year history with the Board of Ramsay Health Care recently approving a multi-million dollar investment.
The development will significantly increase the facility’s capacity, ensuring that more Victorians have adequate and timely access to private mental health care services into the future.
Albert Road Clinic is one of Victoria’s largest private providers of inpatient, day and outreach treatment for people suffering from a range of mental health disorders. The Clinic also offers a number of specialised treatment units including adolescent, addiction and old age psychiatry.
Located within easy reach of Melbourne's CBD and working with over 100 accredited psychiatrists and other medical specialists, the facility also supports onsite specialist consulting suites and the University of Melbourne Professorial Psychiatry Unit.
Albert Road Clinic Chief Executive Officer, Ms Jane Pickworth said the expansion would ensure quality mental health services were more accessible to people with a mental illness. “We recognise the vital role we play as a premier provider of mental health care in Victoria. This expansion to our services will provide more Victorians with the opportunity to access a broader range of specialist private mental health treatment. We are incredibly excited to be part of this growth initiative.”
The Clinic will increase to 128 beds and the current facilities will be refurbished to accommodate enhanced programs.
Construction is set to commence in 2017 with completion estimated mid 2018.
